Indie Recruitment was established in 2015, and primarily services the Newcastle and Hunter Regions. We specialize in a range of human resources functions, including the preparation of resumes and cover letters, as well as the recruitment needs of small and medium businesses.
We offer individual branding, interview coaching, training, school education programs, industrial relations assistance, and much more. When you are thinking INDIE, think a level of sophistication but in a totally relatable way… we like to call it ‘street sophistication’!

Kristin embodies our motto of ‘street sophistication’ – bringing an element of class while keeping it real: and you’ll see that show through in her work! Kristin was employed for many years in both internal and external recruitment, and resume preparation in the Newcastle business environment, working for both small to multinational corporations. Kristin fell ill in 2009, having no choice but to leave the workforce and at the height of her illness, she returned to university to undertake her Masters of Teaching and qualifications in training and assessment. And these days you’ll find her managing (and loving!) the challenges that our clients throw our way.
Kristin is a true Novocastrian and loves this city and the people in it. She is positive, passionate, dependable and ambitious. She is bold and straight-shooting and will achieve the best possible results for you. If you are looking to work with someone who is authentic and approachable, and not afraid to ask the difficult questions, then she is for you.
Our Operations Manager – Jeff Bell

Jeff puts the action into our ideas, here at Indie. You’ll find Jeff mostly driving growth within our team, although his keen eye-for-detail means he also loves getting into the nitty-gritty of resume reviews and small business recruitment.
Jeff is another Novocastrian, who grew up in Nelson Bay before heading to Newcastle to pursue further studies and grow his own businesses. Jeff is a University of Newcastle graduate and Certified Practising Accountant, who also directs several other local companies, which poises him perfectly to discuss your unique small business recruitment requirements. If you are looking to work with someone who is passionate about growth and development, Jeff is your guy!
In line with Indie’s mission and values, we are blessed to be in business and believe it is imperative to have a social focus to inspire us to achieve greater results. As such, we have partnered with Hunter Women’s Centre. Hunter Women’s Centre is a non-government, not for profit, community based organisation which provides services to improve the health and wellbeing of the women of the Hunter.
For every resume completed, we will donate one item towards a dignity bag. For every 20 resumes, we will work one-on-one with a female currently seeking the assistance of Hunter Women’s Shelter, and provide her with a resume, cover letter and interview coaching, to help her break the cycle of homelessness.
